Burn calories while baking this delicious creamy cheesecake.

Nearly everybody enjoys a nice slice of rich creamy cheesecake. But not nearly as many people appreciate the love handles, bulges, and wobbly lumps an over indulgence in this yummy dessert can cause.

Burn Calories the Old Fashioned Way

But there is a way you can indulge your love for cheesecake without feeling guilty. By doing away with some new fangled inventions like cars, food processors and electric beaters you can burn calories while making it. Just follow these easy steps:

Shopping for Ingredients

First up, walk to the shops. If you have to drive, park your car as far away from the entrance as possible. Walk briskly. At the shop take a basket instead of a trolley. You’ll burn calories carrying it around the store. You’ll need the following ingredients:

Pie Crust:

150g digestive biscuits /Graham crackers,

½ cup oats,

2 tablespoons soft brown sugar

100 g butter (melted)

Filling:

Making the Crust

  1. Back home place the biscuits in a plastic bag and roll them with a rolling pin until crushed. This will work your biceps nicely.
  2. Mix with the oats, brown sugar and melted butter , press into a spring form baking tin and bake at 180 Degrees C, for six to seven minutes.

Making the Filling

  1. Sift the flour, salt and sugar. Cream the cottage cheese until soft with a wooden spoon, and gradually beat in the sifted ingredients. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating energetically after each addition.
  2. Stir in crème fraiche and vanilla essence.
  3. Take an old fashioned whisk and beat the egg whites in a clean bowl with a pinch of salt and the crème of tartar until thickened but not stiff. This will take about ten minutes, and will make your arm really tired. This is a good thing, nearly as good as going to the gym.
  4. Gently fold the egg whites into the creamed mixture with a metal spoon.

Baking

  1. Pour the filling into the pie crust, place on a baking tray to catch any overflow, and bake at 160 degrees C for 90 minutes, or until firm.
  2. Turn off the oven, open the oven door and leave the cheesecake inside for another ten minutes. Cool on a wire rack away from draughts. The cake will sink gradually as it cools.
  3. Make a pot of coffee and enjoy your hard earned slice. You’ve worked so hard, you probably deserve seconds.
